Have You Tried The Gout Green Tea Remedy?

Green tea has been touted as a beneficial elixir for many different reasons. Some claim it can help with weight loss, encourages toxins to be released from the body, and some say it might even help to fight cancer. Others believe that there is a gout green tea remedy that can help with pain and flare-ups. Those who have gout and would like to try this out should be aware of what they can expect, and they should also be sure they know the correct way to brew the tea so that it has the most positive affects on the body.

Green tea has drunk in China for health and well being for centuries. The Chinese believe it to be very powerful, and use it to help with many ailments that might have otherwise gone untreated. Green tea is considered better than black tea. This is because it is in its natural form. Black tea has gone through oxidation, which causes it to lose some of its powerful healing properties. Not only is green tea better, it tends to be more pure. When buying, get a quality brand, preferably organic, for the best benefits.

If you want to prepare green tea the correct way, you have to remember that this type of tea is more delicate than black, so it must be handled as such. The pot for brewing is important. If possible, you should have what is called a yixing clay pot. If you can’t find one, you may have to go to a store specializing in Chinese or Japanese cooking materials. You should never buy your tea in teabag form. Instead, buy it in its natural, dried form. And, for the best results, you should not use water from your tap. Instead, buy pure, filtered water from the store.

When brewing, take your time to do it right for the best taste and the most benefits to your health. Remember that though the gout green tea remedy is your main point, this tea has other health benefits as well. Some of the steps might seem silly, but they are said to be the best way to get the most out of the tea. You have to decide how much you want to make before you start. If you are only making it for yourself, you can make extra to save in a sealed container for cold tea later on if you wish.

Boil your water in your new pot, and then pour the water into each of the cups that you want to fill with the green tea. Once you have done this, you should then discard the remaining water in your pot. This is done for a few reasons. The first reason is to lower the temperate of the tea. It should not be made with boiling water, but rather with water that has cooled a bit. Also, this allows the pot and the ceramic cups to be warmed. After this, you should add a teaspoon of tea for every eight ounces of tea you are making into the pot and tip in the water from the cups, and you then allow it to brew for about two minutes.

You should drink your green tea daily. The antioxidants in the tea are said to reduce and even eliminate gout, depending on how bad it is, and even where it is located. It can also trigger more frequent urination, which can help remove excess uric acid that leads to gout. You should give your gout green tea remedy a few weeks to see if it helps.

How You Can Import a Nissan Skyline From Japan

There are many people who would like to import a Nissan Skyline from Japan, but do not do so because they think the process is too complicated. Others simply may not know how to go about this.

The Japanese have a well-deserved reputation for making reliable, fast and very good looking cars. It is only human to want a car that turns everyone’s heads in the streets. This is another reason why Japanese cars are so popular. The Nissan Skyline is a lovely little sports car that is not common in the U.S.

Not a lot of people know that it can actually be much cheaper to import a Nissan Skyline from Japan than to buy it from your local dealer. The Koga Ninja

For hundreds of years the Iga group of Ninja were the major force in ninjutsu. Smaller groups existed in other parts of Japan, but in the Sengoku era Ninja groups sprang up throughout Japan. Within these groups of spies, saboteurs, and killers, there developed two super groups: the Iga of Mie prefecture and the deadly Koga of Shiga prefecture. Not surprisingly, Shiga is next to Mie prefecture in southern Japan. The Koga and Iga inhabited the same mountain range, in two valleys divided by a mountain. Completely isolated from the outside world, they lived as farmers and were sought after by the locals for medicine, herbs, weather forecasting, and agriculture help.

In time there were great generals who gradually unified Japan. These leaders such as Oda Nobunaga, Takeda Shingen, and possibly the greatest general in Japanese history Tokugawa Ieyasu all employed the Ninja to help control the country through a complex spy network.

The Koga Ninja consisted of fifty-three families. They specialized in medicines and explosives and developed many of the tools and weapons used by the Ninja. Though small in number, they were an elite force and became the second most famous group, besides the Iga, in the annals of ninjutsu. Based near Kyoto, they were recruited by the great leaders of Japan as counselors and military strategists.

In 1600 the Koga rescued lord Tokugawa from an assassination attempt by rival Ninja. They made a dummy of Lord Tokugawa, filled it with explosives, and placed it in Tokugawa’s carriage. Then, acting as personal escort, they made it known that Tokugawa was on the move through enemy territory. This diversionary tactic succeeded when the false carriage was attacked by the enemy and all the Koga Ninja killed, giving the real carriage with Tokugawa precious time to escape.

In time Tokugawa became the shogun of Japan. He moved the capital from Kyoto to Edo, now called Tokyo, and took three hundred ninja with him from both Koga and Iga to be her personal bodyguards.

And under Tokugawa there began a reign of peace that lasted for 300 years. As the years passed the need for Ninja’s declined and the number of men willing to endure the intense training needed to become a ninja declined as well because these young men did not want to just become gardeners for Lord Tokugawa. This was the decline of the powerful Ninjas from Japans proud history.

How To Get Asian Girls!

If you are like me and hugely attracted to Asian girls and want to date them, you need to know where they are coming from (as in thinking), and it may surprise you to know this, but what you really need to understand is their culture, only this way can you present an image that they will be devastatingly attracted to, and they will have no other choice except to choose you as their boyfriend!

The thing with Asian culture is that where Japan and Korea are concerned (amongst other Asian countries), their culture mostly has its roots in China and Chinese culture; not only this, but even within a vast majority of other East Asian countries, there are ridiculous amounts of Chinese immigrants who have lived there maybe even since they were born (this includes Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia as well as Korea and Japan).

Therefore, when dating Asian girls you really must understand Chinese culture and dating techniques from there if you are going to be effective at all, as most of the Asian women have a mind-set that originates from Chinese culture! I know this as a fact after having lived in Asia for over ten years now, and also having dated a wide variety of Asian women, time and time again this has proved to be correct.

One way of attracting Asian women or Chinese women is by being the protector; Asian females like a man to act like a man, or at the very least, for the man to show due consideration for her safety when out on a date. This could be something as simple as making sure when you cross the street with her you slightly nudge her ‘here and there’ to make sure she isn’t walking into a car…. this may sound obvious, but you would be surprised how much this protective action positively effects their view of you, and most importantly…attracts her to you.

There are many simple dating tactics like this that can really have a strong effect on them; a western woman wouldn’t bat an eyelid, but to an Asian girl it really has a deep effect on her. Remember, the majority of Asian females character comes mostly from Chinese culture, thinking and tradition. You don’t want to’ end up as the guy who gets no where, due to a lack of understanding, so it’s best to bear this in mind when dating them.

Ancient Chinese Remedies and Anti Aging Remedies

Traditional Chinese medicine is being used around the world to fight aging of the skin. While in western society it is common for products to treat just surface wrinkles, many Asian remedies focus on the more complex issues that lay deep within the skin. Chinese herbs are used to make masks, creams and drinks to promote healthy skin and a healthy body.

Many Chinese remedies believe that promoting a healthy body is the way to create perfect skin. It is said that with the ideal diet and daily healthy remedies that anyone can fight the look of aging. Ginseng can nourish the entire five organ system which is the; heart, lungs, spleen, kidney and liver. It is able to boost the skins metabolism and replenish nutrients. It can also slow the aging process down and decrease wrinkles in the skin.

Masks are an excellent way to fight the look of aging. They are easy to whip up and feel like you`re at the spa when you apply it. Pearl powder was used by the ancient Chinese Queens a long time ago. Pearl powder has amino acids and trace elements to rejuvenate the skin.

For this mask, you simply mix one teaspoon of pearl powder with an egg white and half a teaspoon of honey and water. Apply to the face for twenty minutes and then rinse with warm water. For best results give yourself a mini rinse and massage before and after the mask to stimulate skin follicles.

Asian cultures also belief that the food we consume attributes to the look of our skin. It is said that there are many foods designed to delay the aging process. It is also noted that the ideal diet should include a pH balance of the right combination of acidic foods and alkaline foods for the optimal healthy skin. Halloween Traditions in the United States

If you ask American kids what their most favorite holiday is, many would tell you that it’s Halloween. It’s so popular it comes close to the popularity of Christmas and Thanksgiving. This annual holiday, which is observed every October 31st, is best characterized with scare-related activities like costume parties, Jack-o-lantern carving, haunted attraction visits, scary storytelling, and many more.

History

According to historian Nicholas Rogers, Halloween may have originated in the Roman feast of Pomona. Pomona is the goddess of fruits and seeds. It is also possible that the holiday came from Parentalia, which is the festival of the dead.

Symbols

The primary symbol of Halloween is the Jack-o-lantern. The carving of lanterns came from the custom of carving turnips to remember the souls in purgatory. Horror literary characters like Frankenstein and Dracula have also become symbols of this celebration. Other symbolic elements of Halloween include pumpkins, scarecrows, ghosts, and so on. Black and orange are the colors use for this occasion.

Trick or Treat

Probably the most popular tradition held every Halloween is trick or treat. In this custom, children in scary costumes go from one house to another to ask for treats like candy. They ask the homeowner with the question, “Trick or treat?” If the homeowner refuses to offer treats to the kids, they will play a prank on the homeowner.

Food

Just like any holiday, this one also calls for food feasts and merrymaking. Foods commonly served during this occasion include bonfire toffee, candy apples, caramel apples, caramel corn, roasted pumpkin seeds, and roasted sweet corn.

Consider Japanese Wedding Flowers to Give Your Special Day an Eastern Touch

Japanese culture is very popular in America, and for good reasons. America and Japan have been extremely close allies since the end of the Second World War, and the cultural exchanges between the two countries have gone both ways. American popular culture and music are very popular in Japan, and Japanese martial arts, animation, and electronics are equally popular in the United States. If you are looking to add a Japanese touch to your wedding, consider using Japanese wedding flowers in addition to your other eastern themed decorations.

The Hydrangea is a great example of Japanese wedding flowers. Occurring in colors ranging from pale white to a deep, royal purple, Hydrangea is a perfect addition to your Japanese themed wedding. The Hydrangea flower has a delicate, heart shaped flower that symbolizes love and commitment.

The Tsutsuji is a relatively unknown flower in the United States, but that will change as soon as people discover the subtle beauty of this Japanese flower. If you are considering using Japanese wedding flowers, you should certainly ask your florist if he or she is able to procure some Tsutsuji blossoms. While this flower is not native nor well known in the states, it is a member of the Rhododendron family, so the basic shape and aroma of the flower are familiar to western audiences.

Japanese flowers, like many other elements of Japanese culture, symbolize subtle beauty and long standing commitment. Wedding flowers from Japan emphasize these traits, and indicate that the bride and groom wish to apply the same principles to their relationship.

The Facts on Overpopulation

We were warned some years ago not to have more than two children for this would feed the problems of world overpopulation. Since we had five more, we obviously didn’t heed this advice. The warning today is louder than ever.

Several decades ago, Paul Ehrilich said, “It is already too late to avoid famines that will kill millions, possibly by 1975″. Another false prophet said, “I state flatly that the hungry world will not able able to feed itself ten years from now”. This was stated in 1967. Yes, the evidence for world overpopulation and its destruction of the earth, has vanished.

Admittedly world population is constantly increasing. In the U.S. the rate is presently one more person every 16 seconds. We have 3.5 billion more people in the world than in 1950. However, this does not mean it is overcrowded. As proof, how long would you have to drive from your present location to be in wide open places? For us, it would take five minutes.

In the U.S. the population density of the state of New Jersey is indeed 1171 people/mile2, yet 7 states have less than 20 people/mile2 and the same number have fewer than a million citizens. The average population density of the entire country is only 95 people/mile2. The city in which I live can fit comfortably its 65,400 people into 30 square miles, a population density of 2160 people/mile2. The average school classroom, where children spend more time than any other place during the week, has a population density of a million people/mile2. In other words, to be crowded, you have to choose to bunch together. Overpopulation is not caused by a lack of land.

The population density of the world is presently 34 people/mile2, or a full seven and a half acres of usable land for every person on earth. The simple fact is that most of the world is empty. In fact, we could get the entire world population into West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri if everyone lived as close as they do in New York City, about 25,000 people/mile2. If you refer the less crowded suburbia density, everyone could live comfortably in the 48 contiguous states.

The starving people of Bangladesh (2750 people/mile2) or India (890 people/mile2) are often presented as evidence for overcrowding. The crowded conditions are blamed for their troubles. Yet, contrast India with the industrial giant Japan whose density is only slightly less. Instead, the reasons why starvation is rampant in areas include false religious beliefs, unwise political control, corruption, wars, and other man-made conditions, rarely overpopulation. Honestly, most lands, including India, could easily sustain its present population.

Yet the warning trumpets continue to be blasted. “We cannot long continue our present rate of progress. The first check for our growing prosperity, however, must render our population excessive”. Does this sound like the result of a recent study? It was written in 1865! “Our number are burdensome to the world, which can hardly support us”. That was written by Tertullian in the second century! How comical in light of the fact that India alone has sufficient rich farmland to provide food for the entire world! And food production has increased 1000% in the last 75 years. The danger of starvation is decreasing, not increasing.

What difference does it make whether or not these facts are believed or not? The principle is, if you cause a crisis, you can get just about anything you want. The doom and gloom about world overpopulation has encouraged the justification of abortion since another person will demand food, water, fuel, and the like. Children are a liability to the world and any way to get rid of them is viewed as good.

The medical field is also influenced, as expressed in a leading textbook for training Gynecologists. “In the minds of many, rapid growth of population has become second only to nuclear warfare as civilization’s greatest menace. The gynecologist- obstetrician has assumed a leadership role and has recognized the necessity of controlling human fertility… Population growth is perforce temporary; that it will- indeed must- eventually cease, halted either by an increase in deaths or a decrease in births. There is no other way. Thus, people must come to want fewer children”. A woman visited a doctor so trained might get what advice if he feels she has had enough children? In fact, at 800,000, hysterectomies are the second most common major surgery each year in the US, yet only 10% are due to cancer.

The heart of the problem is not overpopulation but lack of love for children. They are too often viewed as a hindrance to accomplishing our goals. However, the truth is that children are the future of any country. When properly trained, they multiply the potential of parents and benefit society in a multitude of positive ways. Children are indeed not the cause of the world’s destruction, but its future hope.

How To Select Healing Teas for Healthy Living

Welcome to the world of healing teas. Regular tea, a refreshing stimulant, only two calories per cup, is the world’s most popular non-alcoholic healthy drink. Tea glorifies us with many different flavors, scents and colours; the colours are determined by the length of exposure to oxidation.

A great amount of tea is produced in Asia, while it is actually grown in India, Sri Lanka, China, Japan, and Indonesia. Tea is a member of the camellia sinensis family. The best quality teas are grown in the high altitudes and the finest leaves are plucked from the youngest shoots and unopened leaf buds. These buds contain the highest levels of phenols, enzymes and caffeine.

The manner in which fresh tea leaves are processed includes the length of time the leaves are exposed to the oxidation process; it is that which will determine the colour and the flavor of the tea.

There are three main types of tea leaves; black Indian tea produced by drying and fermenting the leaves; thereby converting the flavorless colourless leaves into a pigmented astringent tannin. Researchers believe due to bioflavonoids, plant pigments have been linked to the protection agents that prevent heart attacks, by the reduction of the ability of blood platelets to clot. Antioxidant properties of tea also block damage caused to the arteries by free radicals released when the body consumes oxygen lack tea, researchers have found that by drinking five cups a day, reduced the incidence of stroke by 70% in men.

Green (Japanese) Tea was flavored by the Asians, and is not fermented, but dried and produces a green leaf. It is lighter in color and the tannins are the chemicals in green tea which bind surface proteins in our mouths to produce a tightening effect thereby incapacitating plaque forming bacteria. It aids in digestion of oily substances and is thought to normalize metabolism. It also contains a natural fluoride which prevents tooth decay. Researchers feel this is similar to an antiseptic effect.

Recently, researcher Iman Hakim, a professor at Arizona Cancer Center suggested the compounds in green tea positively affect genes involved in cancer susceptibility and DNA repair. Green tea has been recommended highly for the prevention of colon cancer and prostate cancer.

Tea researchers have only been interested in the effects of tea for the last 30 years and point to a 5,000 year track record of the attributes of green tea; they say that at the very least, green tea cannot hurt you, and most likely is beneficial to our bodies.

Dr. Hakim says the ongoing trials of smokers with COPD, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary disease, have found a significant improvement in the levels of HDL and LDL in cholesterol testing, to those given green tea and those given a placebo.

John Fox, professor of Neuroscience, biology and Psychology, in New York, USA held a symposium where participants were given 10 cups of tea each, and the other group a placebo. Those given the tea had a notable increase in the ability to focus better on given tasks. The active ingredient in this case in green tea is theanine, an amino acid.

The third main tea produced is oolong tea which stems from a combination of black tea and green tea. The actual brand names of oolong tea may contain as many as 20 different types of tea. I have purchased such teas many times, and they are truly exotic in blend and flavor. At this stage of tea drinking, one must purchase a tea steeper, which is relatively small, oval in shape, and holds the tea leaves in when you place it in a cup, this the process of “steeping” the tea is taking place. Remove when the dark colour appears.

Naturally occurring theophyllines in teas have proven to assist people with asthma. These theophyllines have been developed in the use of drugs and inhalers to treat asthma and other constrictive lung disorders.

Dandelion tea is an effective diuretic which stimulates and cleanses the liver. It has also been used to sip for bloating and constipation. You may wish to add sugar to the tea to sweeten the bitter taste of dandelion tea.

Chamomile tea is recommended by many naturopaths to take before bed time to help with insomnia and in low doses, it may relieve anxiety. Chamomile tea is a light coloured tea.

Ginger Tea is a spicy brew, and my favorite; it has long been used for gastrointestinal distress, including nausea and vomiting. Ginger tea is so tasty with a little honey and milk. Of course, ginger, being a very popular spice, is used in many variations of teas, which definitely would be a healthy recipe for healthy living.

Licorice tea is bold, aromatic and is known to fight off stress and fatigue. In ancient civilizations, it was thought to be a potent aphrodisiac. So, if you want to feel sexy, try drinking licorice tea. Good luck with the results.

Peppermint tea sweetens your breath with its pungent concoction, leaving your mouth fresh for a kiss! Peppermint has long been known to ‘tame the tummy’.

Rooibos tea is a caffeine free South African tea, low in tannin levels, and rich in mineral content, which promotes healthy skin, teeth and bones. Apparently, rooibos tea has antioxidant properties and is reputed to be anti-ageing, which I am certain would be appealing to most of us for healthy living.

If sales are any indication of use of teas, last year was the 15th consecutive year consumers in America have bought more tea than ever before. On any given day, about one half of the population drinks tea. In 2006, US consumed 2.25 billion gallons, of which 83% was black tea, 16% green tea, and 85% iced tea.

It is very obvious to me there are numerous healthy benefits to consuming teas and it is quite clear that tea drinkers need not worry about toxicity as according to studies shown in 2008, as Author Beverly Sills says, there are no published records concerning toxicity. It was also noted that tea has less caffeine than coffee.

“Polly put the kettle on.” It is clear to me that tea, the world’s most popular non-alcoholic drink, is a healthy recipe for healthy living. Now you are aware of the healing teas to select. Bottoms up everyone.

Coming of Age Day - Japan

Every year during the second Monday of January celebration ceremonies are held for Japanese men and women who have reached the age of twenty. Coming of age day is part of young Japanese man or women passage into adulthood and includes coming of age ceremonies held at their local prefectures city office, where they dress in traditional Japanese kimonos. After the ceremonies most young people go out to celebrate their new right to consume alcoholic beverages. This tradition originally date back to about 714 AD, when a young prince wore a new robe and featured a new hair style to mark his passage into manhood. The holiday was truly established in 1948 and as be held in January ever since.

The ceremonies are usually held in the morning at local town halls or city offices, where all young adults of the area who have or will turn twenty that year attend. Government officials give speeches and small presents are handed out to the newly-recognized adults.

Many of the women who are coming of age wear traditional Furisode Kimonos which feature long sleeves and wear Zori sandals. Since most women can not put on the kimonos themselves, this is one of the busiest times of year for many Japanese beauty salons and hair dressers. The men also some times wear tradition Japanese robes, but nowadays many men wear formal suits and ties. The celebration of one’s coming of age reflects both upon the rights of an Adult and the new responsibilities of being an adult.

China's Chocolate Market Dominated by Foreign Brands

Foreign chocolate brands such as Dove, Cadbury and Hershey’s have now captured about 70% of the Chinese chocolate market. As Barry Callebaut, the world’s largest chocolate manufacturer with 25% of the global market, recently opened its first chocolate factory in China in Suzhou City, the top 20 chocolate companies in the world have now all entered the Chinese market. But in the face of global competition, China’s local chocolate companies have been further suppressed down the value chain.

Second largest chocolate market

As the CHF 4 billion-revenue-per-year Barry Callebaut set up its first production line in Suzhou, a complete multinational chocolate industry chain is also emerging. Industry insiders suggested that this would be a blow to local Chinese chocolate companies in this globalized competition. It further indicated that keeping up with international competition is particularly important, or the Chinese industry chain will become even more vulnerable.

In recent years, the global chocolate market has notably slowed down, with only 2-3% growth per annum. This is mainly because per capita chocolate consumption in developed countries is already at a high level, averaging 11 kg. On the other hand, China’s per capita chocolate consumption is only 0.1 kg, and its domestic chocolate market has been growing at a staggering 10-15% per year, with an estimated market potential of US$2.7 billion. Thus China has become the world’s second biggest chocolate market only behind the US. The world’s top 20 chocolate companies have all entered China, and there are more than 70 imported or JV chocolate brands in today’s Chinese market.

Barry Callebaut has made it clear that they are coming to share and participate in China’s economic growth. It plans to build the Suzhou factory into the largest among its 38 factories globally, and achieve a 6-fold sales increase in the next five years via the Suzhou factory’s high capacity. “We hope we can fully utilise this factory’s capacity to rapidly increase output from 25,000 tons to 75,000 tons, making it the world’s largest chocolate factory,” said Barry Callebaut CEO Patrick De Maeseneire.

Multinational ambitions

It is understood that Barry Callebaut’s new plant in Suzhou will become the company’s Asia-Pacific headquarter, as well as a sales network centre for serving China and multinational food manufacturers and specialised customers. Major brands, such as Cadbury, Hershey’s and Nestle, all currently have large quantity of outsourcing manufacturing contracts with Barry Callebaut, whose OEM output of cocoa liquor and chocolate products amounts to 15-20% of each of the three major brands’ annual output. So the Swiss Barry Callebaut is indeed the Big Brother of the global chocolate industry.

In fact, even before the arrival of Barry Callebaut, China’s local chocolate companies had already been losing market shares to multinational competitors. The US Hershey’s has determined to plough the Chinese market, planning to achieve 23% share of the local market by 2010 and the runner-up position in China. Meanwhile, Korean and Japanese chocolate producers are also accelerating their entry into the Chinese market.

Local companies not in the local market

Although the rapidly growing Chinese chocolate market is good news for its local chocolate companies, Chinese consumers today are frequently referring to foreign brands such as Dove, Cadbury, Hershey’s and Ferrero but seldom mentioning local brands.

As a foreign product, China only has a chocolate manufacturing history of less than 50 years, so there is inevitable gap behind foreign brands in terms of production techniques and technologies. Due to inappropriate processing equipment and incomplete production facilities, product quality assurance is difficult for many local chocolate companies. Furthermore, most Chinese chocolate companies are weak in product R&D, resulting in slow product changes and updates. At present, most local chocolate companies are stuck in an embarrassing situation of low product quality.

The above industry issues have costed local companies’ opportunities to participate in the competition for the Chinese chocolate market. Multinational chocolate brands have come to the Chinese market one by one since the 1990s, and now they are in a dominant market position. With their considerable financial power, multinationals can play their technological and cultural cards, as well as promoting their premium quality and unique tastes, to rapidly capture the Chinese market.

As Barry Callebaut finally entered the Chinese market, its Suzhou factory will make chocolate production even cheaper for multinational brands. For local Chinese companies that are mostly in the low-end market, they may no longer hold this market segment firm.

Keep up with the globalization

Statistics showed that there are about 63 large-scale local chocolate companies in China, with annual production of 150,000 tons. Statistics from industry associations also revealed that China currently has about 250 chocolate companies in total.

Industry insiders pointed out that the Chinese food and beverage industry is a highly and internationally competitive market. The vast potential of China’s chocolate market is not only for foreign brands, but is also laid in front of local chocolate producers. The local chocolate industry is now in a structural change and survival-of-the-fittest stage, and no doubt the entry of foreign brands will present challenges to the local industry. But if local chocolate companies can participate in this international competition, it could not only drive the chocolate demand from Chinese consumers, but also promote development of China’s chocolate market.

Local Chinese chocolate companies need to constantly improve their product quality, select finer raw ingredients, upgrade production facilities, adopt international technologies, enhance product innovation and brand management. Only then can they compete with multinational companies on a level-playing field, and make a breakthrough in this foreign-dominated Chinese chocolate market.

Japanese Porcelain

Japanese porcelain and pottery have been loved ever since the early days of the 1600’s when their popularity started to stretch out far beyond eastern Japan’s kilns. Soon after battles in the region of China, Korea, and Japan, lots of Korean pottery experts had been relocated to southeastern Japan and the invention of fine porcelain was made.

A white clay called Kaolin was first discovered there and was used in slip to design pottery that had several superior properties. The richness of the white coloring and it’s durability made this a very sought product that was intended for ceremonial tea services, statues, dinnerware, and decorative vases of all shapes and sizes.

Just before 1650, more than just conventional blue and white pottery began to be created. Colors such as green, purples, red, and bright yellow were added along with enhancements of precious metals including gold. The adding of enamel became a stunning addition to the stark white colored porcelain that has been the hallmark of the porcelains beauty.

Due to travel and trading, Europe became very captivated for just about all things from Japan and China. Animals and birds or beautiful painted scenes of the Asian landscape were sold to Europe. The palaces of queens and kings housed many items of the amazingly decorated porcelain and also the general public grew to become every bit as fascinated with the oriental region that they had seen via it’s pottery.

With regards to age, the most ancient Japanese Imari is known as Sometsuke. The subsequent, and much more bright colored items, are called Iroe. There was a major difference in painting and the method employed between the two types. Sometsuke was a Cobalt blue style decorated straight on to bisque, glazed, and then fired as an underglaze design. Iroe pieces are glazed porcelain decorated after this firing technique then fired again for over glazes. Golden gilding usage made extra firing essential simply because gold has a lower melting temperature. Great superior porcelain pieces had been, and continue to be, valued possibly due to age, the application of paint, or the two, in some instances.

Knowing several Kanji marks to get familiarized with time frames the pottery has been produced can help to find genuine items from copies. Handling the real thing and holding them can give you a good sense for the weight, depth of colors, and different textures. The bottom part on the items might not simply include maker’s marks if they has been stilted when it was fired. Most pottery pieces have legs or even a base without glaze to them, so stilting ended up being not needed. This may make a far more precious item or piece.

Japanese exporting of such a stunning porcelain grew to become very fashionable that inferior quality pieces and copies have also been made practically since the start. Experience about the qualities, colorations, and elaborate designs, would let anyone to have better choice on the authenticity about Imari porcelain and pottery.

Black Koi

The gorgeous Koi fish first came from the carp mutations. At that time they only came in one or two colors. Not a lot of choice then. Throughout the upcoming years with more breeding done, the color varieties and patterns grew and emerged.

The Black Koi can grow as big as thirty six inches in length. Because of the size and length they do need to be kept in bigger ponds. Another variety of Koi is the Magoi. It is one of the first all black mutations and can also grow to a very large size. They are really not black at all but a beautiful deep bronze color. However when looked down upon they appear to be black. Because of their potential to grow to this size breeders use the Magoi blood with other species to accelerate and capitalize on the growth potential.

There is even one species of Black Koi fish nicknamed the “crow”. The actual name of this Koi fish is Karasu. The Karasu is another very old species. This variety has black fins and a black body. They can also have an orange or white belly.

Koi fresh water fish also have a penchant to change their color due to the effects of their diet or their surroundings. These color changes usually involve the fish going from a duller color to much brighter bold shading. One specific species of Koi known as the Matsukawabake has the capability to change its color. However it is the Black Koi that usually has areas of white on its body. Koi fish can change their color entirely due to changes in water temperature or even the seasons. They can also turn completely white or black.

Amazingly enough Koi will return to its original pattern once the conditions change again. The Kumonryu is the most popular of the Black Koi species and first appeared in the 1980’s. Their name means “dragon fish”. They received this name because some people were reminded of the bodies of great dragons depicted in very old paintings. Others also thought they looked like dragons rising through the white clouds in the skies. Like the Matsukawabake these Koi can also change their color.

These are a few of the reasons that attract pond owners to Koi fish. Their broad assortment of patterns and colors the Koi come in is amazing to behold. Even more attractive to Koi owners is their ability to own a fish that will literally change colors before their eyes!

3 Fruits to Cure Your Cancer - Alternative Cancer Treatment

The body needs enough nutrients so that you can function well; it must digest more vitamins and minerals that we can get from fresh fruit juices. More cancer-healed patients were believed to have recovered for this reason. Regarded as an alternative cancer treatment, I want to take down all the beliefs concerning this and what type of cancer does it heal?

First stop is Sour sop.

Sour sop also known as Guyabano in Spanish and Filipino and Graviola in Portuguese grows primarily on tropical countries. The flesh of the fruit is assumed to have high fiber, carbohydrates, Vitamins C, B1 and B2 plus potassium. Also, it is low in saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium.

Exactly what can you do with this fruit?

You can try to eat it raw the moment it ripens. You may also try to make sour sop flavored ice cream, sherbets, candies and tarts, shakes and various beverages. It is a little sour, maybe that’s why it is called sour sop. Nevertheless the sourness it gives brings plenty of benefits to your body and most especially it is also believed to have healed various kinds of cancer like colon cancer, lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, prostate cancer, and breast cancer.

Second one is Pomegranate.

Pomegranate contains 40% of an adult’s daily Vitamin C requirement and it is often known as a fruit abundant in folic acid. It includes a cocktail of chemicals considered to minimize cancer cell damage and potentially kill off cancer cells. This is based on the research of the University of California.

What are the other benefits of this fruit?

Pomegranate can help fight heart disease and helps reduce bad cholesterol in your body. Antioxidants in a pomegranate juice can help lessen the development of fatty deposits on artery walls.

Lastly is Acai berry.

Acai is known as a tall palm tree that grows for about 15 to 25m tall. Acai produces remarkably nutritious edible berries that grow to about 1-2 cm in diameter. The Acai fruit is rich in Vitamin B, minerals, fiber, protein, omega-3 fatty acids and omega-9 or oleic acid.

Why is it that Acai berry is good for cancer?

Acai juice has been said to have very high amounts of antioxidants, even more than cranberry, raspberry, blackberry, strawberry and blue berry. Studies in the University of Texas have found that drinking the juice daily can help prevent the development and spread of cancer cells.

Acai Berry, Sour Sop, Pomegranate. Just some of the incredibly wonderful creations in the world that can help us better our well being. Isn’t it great that Mother Nature has given us her blessings in the form of fruits to help us overcome this disease called cancer? These three fruits, although associated greatly with preventing or helping alleviate the suffering of cancer patients in the world, can also help in other more ways than one with our health. Every year, scientists discover something new in nature to make our lives easier. I’m sure you’ve heard of medicinal herbs discovered left and right, from different exotic forests in the world that help with other diseases.

Cancer can be a very expensive disease nowadays. It requires plenty of challenging and expensive treatments to be healed. However, there are many resources that people have found which can help lessen or totally diminish the price tag on your cancer treatment. There are a lot of alternative cancer treatments offered all over, all you have to do is to seek your doctor’s assistance and with the help of the power of Internet, you’ll eventually find your way to a cancer free life.

White Chicken Chili Recipes That Really Tastes So Delicious

My friend brought these white chicken chili chicken recipes to my attention and I’m glad she did. This is a delicious meal and so visually stunning.

I was pleasantly surprised by the ease of preparation and I couldn’t believe how much this recipe yields. We were really impressed with the final result, the taste was truly splendid, and it’s such an enjoyable meal.

White chicken chili recipe #1:

Ingredients:

3 med. onions, chopped (I used half an onion)

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 T olive or vegetable oil

4 cups cooked chicken or turkey

2 cans (15 oz each) white kidney or cannelloni beans, rinsed & drained

1 can (15oz) garbanzo beans or chickpeas, rinsed & drained

2 cups chicken broth (I used more)

1 can (4 oz) chopped green chilies

2 teaspoons ground cumin

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/4 cup minced fresh cilantro or parsley

Cooking Instructions:

  1. In a skillet, sauté the onions and garlic in oil until tender. Transfer to a slow cooker. Add the chicken, beans, broth, green chilies, cumin, oregano, salt and cayenne; stir well. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or until bubbly.

  2. Stir in cilantro. Serve over corn chips; top with cheese and sour cream. Yield: 8 servings (2 quarts)

Notes:

I used great northern beans, pintos, and leftover black eye peas from last night, also didn’t have any cilantro in the house. It’s better with cilantro, but it was yummy this way, too. I used a bit more broth because it looked too thick.

How to Sell Your Product to Costco - 11 Crucial Steps!

Making the decision to do business with one of the countries most successful retailers is not one of those quick brainstorm ideas hatched over coffee and a bagel at your local Starbucks.  I am sure you have lain awake at night dreaming of your product prominently displayed at Costco with thousands of members clamoring around to grab a hold of the last item before they are all gone.  No doubt you have rehearsed your response to the frantic phone call from Costco begging for more product, offering anything to just get one more shipment.  Cool and unbothered you pause before letting them know you will see what you can do, while at the same time, asking for better terms.

Fortunately this has happened and could happen to you.  You may never find yourself invited over to Jim Sinegal’s house for holiday dinner, but that doesn’t mean you will never be successful selling your products to Costco if you are prepared.

Thousands of companies just like yours have made it into Costco and sold their products successfully for years.  What makes the difference between companies that are in and the ones that are out?  The successful companies had the following in common:

  • They were prepared:  They did their homework and had a plan.  They knew what they were getting themselves into and had already made the necessary adjustments for success.

  • They hired a company or individual who had expertise in selling Costco to fill in the gaps in their plan and advise them during the process.

  • They understood Costco’s business model and that Costco would not bend their rules even for them.

  • They were in the right place, at the right time with the right item.

Will your product be the next big item at Costco?  Only time and preparation will tell.  To get you started I have outlined the first 11 steps which are crucial to preparing for a meeting with Costco.

  1. Product selection:  Determine if a single product or multiple products will be offered.  At times, in order to create the value needed to meeting Costco’s standards you may have to bundle products together.  Bundling products can also help with your distribution network as you have created a different and unique item number.

  2. Pricing:  Research your distribution network to determine the lowest sell prices in the market on the products you would like to offer Costco.  Ensure you have a handle on all prices and products being offered for sale.  If you don’t you can be sure Costco will.  They will do their research which means you need to as well.  Create a possible pricing structure taking into account prices currently being offered.

  3. Distribution affect:  Determine how selling product to Costco at reduced pricing or added value will affect your current distribution network.  Distributors and dealers can sometimes become difficult if they believe you are undercutting them by offering the same products to Costco.

  4. Packaging:  Determine what type of packaging you will be offering to Costco.  Costco is very specific on their packaging requirements.  Generally the require a single display pallet.  Get quotes from a couple of different companies on the graphics and packaging.

  5. Logistics:  Take a look at your current logistics capacity to determine if you are able to service a large client like Costco.  Knowing your capacity will help you understand what your sell through expectations will be.  Analyze Costco’s routing guide to ensure you are including all required aspects when looking at logistics.  Click here for Costco’s routing guide

  6. Other costs:  Review and take into account these additional costs.

    1.  Customer service support:  Do you have the phone support required to handle the influx of customers or will you have to hire a company to handle this aspect?

    2.  EDI Costco (Electronic data interchange):  Price out EDI to include in your financials.

    3.  Promotional costs:  Will you want to participate in any promotions?  The various promotions at Costco are where the sales really explode and should be planned for accordingly.

    4.  Shipping:  Costco will require a delivered cost to their depots.  You must cost average this out and include it in your cost structure.

    5.  Returns and defects:  How will you manage the return and defect portion.  This can get expensive and should be carefully evaluated.

  7. Potential sell through quantities:  Based on what divisions of Costco you are going after create some scenarios that show potential quantity sales.  Costco has 3 divisions in the US and an International division:

    a. Costco wholesale,

    b. Costco.com,

    c. Costco Road Show,

    d. Costco Canada,

    e. Costco.com Canada,

    f. Costco Mexico,

    g. Costco UK,

    h. Costco Taiwan,

    i. Costco Japan,

    j. Costco Korea.

  8. PNL:  Create a item PNL using the above information to determine program viability.  You never want to do this after the deal has been made.  Entering into a program and finding out after you are having success that you are losing money will be devastating.

  9. Costco:  Decide which division you should contact first.  Make initial contact with the buyer and gage interest.  You will probably need help here as getting through to Costco buyers can be very difficult if not impossible.  If enough interest exists set an initial meeting at Costco HQ in Seattle WA.

  10. Pre-Meeting:  Final decision on at least two, no more than three packaging options.  Nail down your options as you will only have approximately 30 minutes or less to pitch your idea to Costco and you want to have time left to discuss next steps.  Make your final decision on cost pricing to include in the presentation.  Create your presentation and print out more copies than you think you will need.  Confirm your meeting one week prior to the date.

  11. Meeting:  In your presentation be thorough, but not over the top.  Keep your pitch smart and to the point.  Be prepared for Costco to have some questions, not just about your product, but about you and your company as well.  Know your competition and your market.  They will test you.  Make sure you nail down next steps and follow up before you leave the meeting.

2012 Natural Disasters

Here is a list of the most common and purported 2012 Natural Disasters.

2012 Natural Disaster #1 – Super Volcanoes

The most talked about super volcano that will erupt when 2012 approaches, is the giant one sitting underneath Yellow Stone National Park in Wyoming, USA. The park actually borders the states of Idaho and Montana, meaning the volcano does as well.

In the past millions of years, eruptions from the Yellowstone super volcano have produced the of the two largest volcanic eruptions in North America.

The University of Utah states, “These eruptions left behind huge volcanic depressions called “calderas” and spread volcanic ash over large parts of North America (see map). If another large caldera-forming eruption were to occur at Yellowstone, its effects would be worldwide. Thick ash deposits would bury vast areas of the United States, and injection of huge volumes of volcanic gases into the atmosphere could drastically affect global climate. “

In a nutshell, the effects of this volcano will be felt everywhere on earth. And this is only from one super volcano. There are 7 known super volcanoes in the world according to the Discovery Channel – the Yellowstone, Long Valley, and Valles Calderas in the United States; Lake Toba, North Sumatra, Indonesia; Taupo Volcano, North Island, New Zealand; Aira Caldera, Kagoshima Prefecture, KyÅ«shÅ«, Japan; and the Siberian Traps, Russia.

2012 Natural Disaster #2 – Earthquakes

Part of the fear of 2012 is that major earthquakes will occur. Volcanoes, landslides and fault lines in the earth can all set off earthquakes. The effects of an earthquake include fire, shaking and splitting of the earth, landslides, avalanches, floods, tsunamis and of course, death.

2012 Natural Disaster #3 – Tsunamis and Large Tidal Waves

As mentioned earthquakes can cause tsunamis and major tidal waves. Asia in most recent years has been heavily affected by major tidal waves.

    Cure Rosacea Naturally

    Rosacea

A chronic skin disorder that most often affects the forehead, nose, cheekbones, and chin. Groups of capillaries close to the surface of the skin become dilated resulting in blotchy red areas, small bumps, and sometimes pimples. The redness can come and go, but eventually may become permanent. The inflammation of rosacea can look a great deal like acne, but it tends to be more chronic. Blackheads and whiteheads are almost never present and usually begins in middle age or later. It is a fairly common disorder – about 1 in 20 Americans are afflicted with but many never realize it. Rosacea is caused by a depressed immune system, vitamin deficiencies, and an overload of toxins. Fair-skinned individuals seem to be more susceptible to this condition that darker-skinned people.

    Symptoms:

Rosacea usually begins with frequent flushing of the face, particularly the nose and cheeks. The flushing is caused by the swelling of the blood vessels underneath the skin. This “red mask” can serve as a warning signal. Rosacea can also cause a persistent burning and feeling of grittiness in the eyes, or inflamed and swollen eyelids.

    • We suggest a high quality whole food supplement, like VITAFORCE™ to correct nutritional deficiencies. This provides organic whole food nutrients necessary for healthy skin and the repair of skin tissues.

    • Herbal detoxification products may be helpful in flushing toxins, chemicals, heavy metals, and thousands of other poisons out of the kidneys which make effect the skin. We suggest using formulas that use organic, whole herbs. If interested, take a look at the Kidney Bladder Formula and Hot Cayenne Extract.

    • Eat a diet that is composed of 50% raw foods and includes plenty of fruits, vegetables and whole grains.

    • Drink plenty of distilled water and fresh “live” juices throughout the day. Juices are extremely nutritious and detoxifying.

    • It is very important that you eat only organic foods. These foods will be free of pesticides, hormones, insecticides, and other chemicals and toxins that cause psoriasis.

    • Use all natural skin care products that contain NO chemicals or synthetics of any kind.

    • Aloe Vera Gel has excellent healing properties; apply pure, organic aloe vera gel topically to dry skin as directed on the label. If you experience irritation, discontinue use.

    • Primrose Oil is a good healer for all skin disorders because it contains linoleic acid which is needed for healthy skin.

    • Lavender is good to use in a sauna or steam bath, it fights inflammation, soothes and heals irritated skin.

    Things to Avoid:

    • All Animal Foods (they produce excess acids which corrode the lining of the stomach): dairy foods (milk, cheese, butter, cream, ice cream), fish, meat, chicken, turkey, eggs, fried and greasy foods, margarine, and all other processed foods and animal derived products from your diet. These foods are laced with chemicals, pesticides, and toxins as well as high levels of saturated fats which promote inflammation.

    • Salt, tobacco, caffeine, strong spices, sodas, coffee, sugar, and refined white flour (breads, pastas, cereals- replace with whole wheat pastas, breads, and cereals). These products are extraordinarily destructive to the skin.

    • Avoid extremes of temperature, especially heat. Keep baths and showers short using only warm water that you can tolerate comfortably.

Our Top Ten Team Building Exercises

You’ve recruited the individual members of your team. You’ve established your goal. You’ve developed a plan and a timeline. Now the trick is to get all those unique individuals working together toward the same goal. Given the varied personalities, communication skills and personal agendas individual members bring with them to the team, getting your team to work cooperatively can be a challenge.

In the most productive teams, members are individually and cooperatively focused on reaching the team’s goal. Members understand the interdependent nature of the team: that their individual work depends upon and affects the quality of others’ work and, ultimately, the ability of the team to reach its goal. Members respect, appreciate and recognize each person’s unique contribution to the team’s efforts, but place the greatest emphasis on cooperative achievement of the team goal.

Experiential team building was all the rage not long ago. The team would travel offsite for a “fun” day of rope games and unusual problem solving, typically at an outdoor education center. Unfortunately, too often there was little follow-up and any lessons learned never made it back into the workplace. Today, the emphasis has shifted to in-house team building exercises that can be accomplished at the beginning of a meeting.

Follow these key steps to plan a productive team building exercise:

    1. Keep it simple. It should be quick and easy to set up in a typical meeting room.

    2. It doesn’t need to be expensive. You can get a lot of mileage out of basic office supplies or a few items from your kitchen pantry.

    3. The exercise should be geared for normal office clothing or team members should be told ahead of time to dress appropriately.

    4. People have a hard time relating to large groups, so divide the team into small units of 2 to 4 or 6 people. By breaking down barriers and creating partnerships within these small groups, team members will be better able to relate to the larger team.

    5. Instructions must be easy to understand, especially by any non-native English speakers in your group.

    6. Limited instructions may be part of the team building exercise. Forcing people to figure out what to do or how to do something helps team members identify skills and abilities in themselves and their peers that can help them define their roles on the team: leader, facilitator, problem-solver, communicator, etc.

    7. The exercise should engage all members quickly.

    8. It should present a problem that has multiple solutions to allow for creativity, but that can only be solved through collaboration and cooperative action.

    9. You can increase the difficulty level of any exercise by adding a complication such as “no talking,” or by speeding things up by asking, “How can you do it faster?”

    10. At the completion of the exercise, it is crucial that a facilitator, often the team leader, lead the team in reflecting on what happened, the choices made, and how they interacted with each other. Team members should discuss what they would do differently next time. Reflection is critical to identifying and reinforcing learning.

Try these team building exercises to get your team off on the right foot.

    1. Scrambled Jigsaw. Before the team arrives, place a jigsaw on each table. To manage the time element, use large-piece children’s puzzles of 100 pieces or so. Remove 5 pieces from each puzzle and move them to another table. As the team arrives, divide members among the tables. Instruct teams to fully complete their puzzle, by any means, in the shortest amount of time possible. As puzzles are completed and teams realize pieces are missing, they will be forced to negotiate with other teams to complete their puzzle. This exercise promotes flexibility, communication, negotiation and cooperation.

    2. Creative Assembly. Purchase 3-D punch-out wood dinosaur puzzle kits. Divide the team into groups of 2 to 4. Without comment or instruction, give each group the unpunched puzzle pieces, one complete puzzle per group. Do not let the group see the boxes, pictures or instructions or in any way identify what you have given them. Instruct each group to assemble its project, telling them they can only use what is in front of them. You’ll get some interesting and creative constructions, a lot of laughter and some good natured frustration, particularly with the winged dinosaur kits. When time is up, ask each group to describe its construct. In this exercise, creative thinking, brainstorming, problem-solving, cooperation and consensus will certainly get a workout.

    3. Slight of Hand. Divide team into groups of 4 to 6. Hand each group 4 tennis balls. Tell them each person must handle all 4 balls in the shortest time possible. Do this several times, each time asking, “How can you do it faster?” This exercise will progress from the obvious passing of the balls down a line, to around a circle, to some interesting ball drops and hand swiping. Your team will practice cooperation, quick thinking and creative problem solving in this exercise.

    4. Going Up. Divide team into groups of 2 to 6. Give each person one 8 1/2″ x 11″ sheet of paper and one 5″ strip of masking tape. Instruct each team to build the tallest possible free-standing structure. This exercise promotes cooperation, creative thinking, problem-solving, consensus, leadership and division of labor.

    5. Gnome Dome. Divide the team into groups of 2. Give each group 20 gumdrops and 12 toothpicks. Instruct each group to build a dome. Problem-solving, creative thinking, cooperation (and possibly snacking) will be practiced during this exercise.

    6. Poisonous Web. Stretch a piece of rope across a door frame, securing it to the frame or connecting wall with duct tape. You’ll need two pieces of rope, one 3 feet off the ground, the other 4 1/2 feet off the ground. You are creating a “window” 18 inches wide that you describe to the team as a “poisonous spider web.” The team must work together to get all members through the opening without touching the ropes. They must go through, not under or over the ropes. If a team member touches either rope, the entire team must go back to the beginning and try again. This exercise builds cooperation, leadership, creativity and problem-solving. It also forces team members to trust and depend on each other.

    7. Hang Ups. Hand each person a wire coat hanger. Tell the group they may work individually or create their own groups. Instruct them to make something useful from their coat hanger. Set a time limit of 5 to 15 minutes. Ask each person/group to describe his “tool” and its use. This exercise will indicate which of your team members are natural leaders or born socialites as well as which are more shy and may need to be drawn out when working with the group.

    8. In the Picture. This is another puzzle game. Divide the team into groups and give each one a jigsaw puzzle from which you have already removed one piece. Each team will complete a puzzle with one missing piece. Ask each team what this represents in terms of the team. You’re aiming for discovery of the importance of each individual to the successful accomplishment of the team’s goal, but you may get some interesting responses about proper planning, supply officers and quality control.

    9. All Aboard. This is another physical game. Depending on the size of your team, place a 1-foot to 3-foot square of cardboard on the floor, or mark off a square with masking or duct tape. Draw numbers, one for each team member. In order of the numbers drawn, team members must stand in the square. As the number of people in the square increases, members will have to work together and get creative to get everyone aboard. This exercise practices cooperation, problem-solving and leadership.

    10. Bridge the Gap. Divide the group into teams of 2 to 4. Give each group a small ball of modeling clay and 12 toothpicks. Instruct them to build the longest cantilever bridge they can. Award points for speed of construction, length of bridge, ability to stand without tipping over and ability to hold weight (to measure this, stack quarters until the bridge tips or breaks). Team members will practice creativity, problem-solving, consensus (and manual dexterity).

To be successful, teamwork must be more than a method of dividing up the work to get the job done. Teamwork must embrace a cooperative attitude of mutual respect, shared responsibility and open communication. Teamwork recognizes each team member’s individual contribution to the team in the context of the interdependency of those efforts in cooperative pursuit of the team’s goal.

The Current Situation of Solar Energy in USA and Japan

Solar is a sustainable use of clean energy. In the search for sustainable development of human society, energy-saving building on the increasing use of solar energy is getting worldwide attention.

The status of solar energy use in United States is getting better!

In United States, total energy consumption in building comes up to 30% -90%. It is becoming a certain form of economic development constraints role. Therefore, American development of solar energy is growing very rapidly.

In order to reduce energy consumption, reduce pollution and adjust energy structure, to achieve sustainable development, United States made a positive exploration of solar energy. “A million solar roofs plan” is the largest in the progressive realization of the project plan. The U.S. plan is geared to the 21st century by a government advocacy. It is a development of medium and long-term plan. By implementation of this plan, there will be 1 million roofs or buildings installed with solar energy systems, including solar photovoltaic systems, solar water heating systems and solar air heater system. By implementation of this plan, solar energy technology applications will be further expanded, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, expand energy choices and create new high-tech jobs. It will bring substantial environmental benefits and economic benefits. By 2010, millions of the roof will be equivalent to production of 2-3 coal-fired electricity power plants. It will not only meet their own electricity needs, but also been able to sell electricity generated by solar energy.

Recently, U.S. scientists find new energy from the vastness of space. Scientists envisaged launch the satellite energy collecting device. The solar panel installed in the satellite can collect energy in space, and the collection of energy as microwave will be transferred back to Earth, and then converted into direct current. It will provide cheap, clean, safe, reliable, sustainable energy.

Japanese current situation in construction of solar energy utilization is very nice!

As the second-largest economy, Japan is the primary energy consumption in major countries, and they are depending on energy imports. However, in recent years, Japanese energy-saving technologies to significantly improve energy efficiency are getting better rapidly.

In the field of solar energy use, Japanese photovoltaic roof system were installed 887,000 kilowatts by the end of 2003.Japanese government plans to install 4.82 million kilowatts by 2010.

In Japan, solar energy is very common in ordinary residential quarters. The residential quarters of the energy conservation efforts is clearly promulgated by the Japanese construction regulations and standards. There are many specific energy-saving measures for lighting. In energy-saving, the Japanese residential quarters are in the common application of solar energy, and it is mostly passive solar house system. Absorbing through the roof panels that efficiently collecting solar energy, it will enter the indoor with thermal (cold) wind according to interior rooms automatically. It can supply hot water as well. The utilization of solar energy in Residential Area can not only save power, but can also improve, protect the environment. It is also in line with community building in the sustainable development of energy-saving in one direction. It is getting Japanese government’s attention, Support and encouragement.

These two countries are all doing very well in the solar energy industry. Their scientists are working very hard on this solar energy development as well. There are still a lot of obstacles in the development of solar energy. In the near future, the solar energy utilization will be more important as the shortage of oil. So it is time for us to pay attention to this industry!

How to Give an Erotic Massage: Massage Oils

    Why massage oil?

A lot of people think grabbing some hand cream or body lotion would do just fine for a massage, or worse (shudder) doing a “dry” massage. If you want this erotic massage to actually reach the erotic point, you need real massage oil; something that will absorb a bit into the skin, soften it, but also allow you to keep smooth, steady movements with your massage.

You also want your massage oil to be something that you use only for erotic massage. You want to get to the point where you can take a whiff of the oil and have your body ready to rumble. You want to walk into the room the next day, catch the merest leftover scent of the massage oil, and smile at the memory of what you did in that room the night before. You want to put one small drop of that massage oil behind your ear, so that when you and your partner are out on the town, at a party or a business meeting, maybe in a restaurant, he’ll catch the scent as it wafts past him, and drive him insane until he can get you alone. Lubriderm cream is not going to do that for you!

But let’s back up a bit here, take a step back and look at the bigger picture.

    A Brief History

Oils and aromatherapy have been around for a long time. Just look in the Bible. Remember when Mary Magdalene anointed Jesus’ feet? Not only was she applying essential oils, but was doing so through massage. Mary knew the power of massage. It’s a way to relax, relieve stress, show interest, and “rev the motor”, so to speak.

Oils have been around a lot longer than Biblical times, though. About 2700 years before the birth of Christ, the Chinese were using herbs and burning oils.

The Egyptians used oils in the mummification process, then eventually applied the same herbs and oils to everyday life. In fact, Cleopatra used the exotic and erotic Jasmine oil to distract Marc Antony during business meetings (Ladies, take note!).

In India, practitioners of ayurveda, a form of medical therapy, employed the use of aromatherapy and massage. Greeks used oils for aromatherapy, cosmetics, and medicine. Romans utilized the oils after baths, and the Aztec had a vast array of herbs and plants. In 980 AD, in the Far East, the art of distilling alcohol led to the development of more modern-day perfumes.

I believe it wouldn’t be too far-reaching to say that nearly every culture at one time or another took advantage of nature’s resources and used oils and massage.

    How Do They Work?

Essential oils work in at several ways. First, and probably most obvious, is scent. The nose is an incredible organ. Ever notice how a fleeting aroma wafting across the street can take you back in time 20 years, to when you first encountered that smell? You can recall that instant in time in vivid detail; much more detail, in fact, than a photograph could bring back. Have you ever encountered a scent that reminded you of a particular person? Have you ever found yourself attracted to someone and not known why, only to find out later it was the scent he or she was wearing that aroused your interest? There are good reasons for that. The nose is directly hardwired to the brain.

When a scent is inhaled, the particles of the aroma are picked up by nerve endings at the back of the nose. The signal is then passed up to the brain, specifically to the limbic system.

The limbic system is home of the hypothalamus, which in turn houses the pituitary gland. The pituitary gland, among other things, is responsible for hormone release. See where I’m going with this?

Nose – to – limbic system – to – hypothalamus – to – pituitary gland – to – hormone release

There are different neurochemicals that are triggered by smell and cause mood changes. The first one is familiar to just about everyone- endorphine. Endorphin is the body’s natural high. Endorphines are most commonly associated with pain control. Everyone has heard of the person who is shot and doesn’t know it, or the person who has broken a limb and feels no pain. Thank the great hormone endorphine for that! Endorphines are actually stronger than morphine, which is probably why the word breaks down as “endo”, which means “within”, and “phin”, which means “morphine”; literally the word means “the morphine within.”

But pain control isn’t the only job of endorphines. Elevated levels of this hormone is seen after exercise and sex, as well. It’s associated with feelings of invicibility, satisfaction, calmness, and attunement with the body.

The other neurochemical triggered by smell is serotonin. Serotonin is a calming hormone. It is associated with sleep, mood, locomotion, feeding, and anxiety.

Is it any wonder that aromatherapy is a great way to relax, calm, and entice?

So, now the nose has picked up on the scents of the oil and has triggered a mad rush of hormones through the body. That, you may say, is a temporary state. One could get used to the scent of the oil and it will have less impact, or over the course of an evening the effects of the hormones will dissipate. But there’s more. The oils are also absorbed in the fat cells, and when essential oils are used in massage, whether erotic or not, the medicinal components of the herbs are also availed. Combine that with the effects of the massage itself -stimulation of circulation and heat production, not to mention relaxation of tense muscles – and you have an excellent vehicle through which to completely spoil your partner with luxury.

    Introduction to Essential Oils

I personally believe that massage using essential oils is one of the most erotic feelings in life. As I said before, the massage itself, along with the scents, is magical enough, but what I think really makes massage with essential oils so special is the care that is being shown by the masseuse.

When you partner takes the time to select, mix, and then apply oils to your body, he or she is telling you that you are worth the time. Your partner is telling you that you’re worth spoiling, worth pampering, and that he or she thinks you’re beautiful.

Psychologically, essential oils and massage do as much for the soul as the actually physical benefits, which are no small things.

The main focus of this composition is information on essential oils used for massage. Keep in mind that all these oils are used for other medicinal reasons and in other ways than massage. For our purposes, though, I will try to keep the information on massage oils, erotic and otherwise.

At the end of this report you’ll find a small guide to different oils, their basic scents, and their attributes in regards to massage, as well as good base oils to use in your mixture.

    A Word of Caution

My favorite base oil is almond oil, but there are a surprisingly large number of people allergic to nuts. DO NOT USE ALMOND OIL WITH ANYONE WHO HAS A NUT ALLERGY! You want to send your partner into throes of passion, not the emergency room with anaphylactic shock.

When choosing the essential oils for your massage oil:

    • Pick just a few; you don’t want a mishmash of aromas.

    • Make sure the essential oils, as well as the base oil, are not only edible, but tastes good and are not harmful to mucous membrane.

    • Be aware of the properties of the essential oils you use. Some may heat up, which can be a lot of fun, but might be a little intense for some people. Some are astringent, some can raise blood pressure, and some just taste horrible.

    • This may sound like a “duh” statement, but find out what your partner likes. If your partner absolutely hates mints, then massage oil made with peppermint is not going to put him in the mood for love.

    Blends

There are a few things to keep in mind when blending oils. First and foremost is many essential oils have medicinal properties and should be used with caution, especially during pregnancy.

After the list of oils and their attributes at the end of this narrative, there will be a list of oils to avoid during pregnancy, some of which may not be listed in the list of oil attributes.

The second thing to keep in mind is that oils should never be applied directly to the skin, unless you have been instructed to do so by an experienced aromatherapist. Base oil must always be used. You want to use about 5 to 6 drops of essential oil for every 10 mL of base oil you use. That comes out to about 15 or so drops of essential oil per liter of base oil.

Oils should be stored in a dark glass bottle – never plastic. You will usually find oils stored in amber-colored bottles or blue ones. Avoid rubber stoppers for your oil bottles. The oils can eat through the rubber.

And speaking of oils eating through rubber, latex condoms will degrade in the presence of oil. Again, your Jimmy hat will not be of any use if you use oils as a sexual lubricant, which is bound to happen during an erotic massage. There are condoms made from plastics that can withstand the presence of oil, so read labels before you buy! Okay, I’m going to reiterate, since I don’t want anyone blaming me if Junior is born 9 months from now: DO NOT USE LATEX CONDOMS WITH OIL LUBRICANTS, AS THE OIL CAN CAUSE THE CONDOM TO BREAK!

    Moving on…..

Store the oils in a cool dry place. If stored correctly, the oils should last a year or so.

After mixing your oils, let your mixture sit for a day or so, or at least a few hours, and then go back and smell it again. You might find that the finished product smells a little different from when you first put it up. You can adjust your mixture accordingly. Play around with the oils, find a mixture that smells good to you and experiment with it. If you added 3 drops of sandalwood and 1 drop of chamomile one time, the next time you might want to try 2 drops of each, instead.

By the way, the combination of sandalwood and chamomile is an excellent relaxing oil mixture.

In general, men tend to enjoy spicy, woody smells, while women are known for favoring floral scents. A blend of both, then, would be an ideal massage oil that would please both partners in a heterosexual relationship. This, however, is a general statement. I’m a woman, and I prefer the spicy aromas over the floral ones, and I know some men who love the scent of some flowers. Regardless, for him/her relationships try a mixture of jasmine and sandalwood (both very erotic oils), or rose and frankincense.

Men like scents such as cinnamon, ginger, clove, nutmeg, and coriander. Women seem to lean towards aromas such as rose, jasmine, nerolis, and ylang-ylang. But, like I said before, this is a generality and the real fun comes from finding what you and your partner enjoy.

My all-time favorite massage oil is a combination of lavender oil, clove oil, cinnamon, peppermint, and rosemary oil, in a base of sweet almond oil. This blend not only smells awesome, but also produces just a touch of heat that can really drive you wild. It also tastes great!

You might want to try these other combinations:

    - For relaxation try clary sage, lavender, and lemon. Chamomile is excellent for sleep, so try a mixture of chamomile and sandalwood, or chamomile and lavender to help you relax.

    - Ginger and, believe it or not, black pepper, are great for sore, achy muscles.

    - For an uplifting massage, try a blend of lemon, mint, and geranium. How about bergamot, peppermint, and lemon? Lavender, orange, and peppermint is a very cooling combination, as well, and gives a nice floral scent.

    - For romance there are several mixtures you can try. Bergamot, sandalwood, and jasmine for one. The Kama Sutra recommends jasmine and grapefruit. Ylang-ylang, lavender, grapefruit, lemon, and neroli are also great together. If you’re really ambitious, go for a combination of rosewood, neroli, lavender, thyme, and cinnamon or clove.

    - Trouble sleeping? Try lemon, marjoram, and vetiver.

    Essential Oils

Please keep in mind that all these oils have many attributes, and this is by no means a complete list of essential oils. I’ve picked these oils for their relaxing, sensual, or refreshing qualities. An asterisk after an entry means that that particular essential oil is not recommended for use during pregnancy.

In general, it is a good idea to always consult with an herbalist, doctor, midwife, aromatherapist, or other healthcare practitioner before using any essential oil medicinally. There will be a more complete list of oils to avoid after this entry.

Essential oils that are underlined are particularly known for their sensual attributes. If you notice, most of the “aphrodisiac” essential oils have euphoric and calming effects. This makes sense, as a calm and content state of mind is essential for a good sensual encounter. Combine these erotic oils with those promoting muscle relaxation, and you have a massage partner that is calm, relaxed, and ready for more action.

    - Bergamot – Citrus bergamia – This oil has the aroma of bergamot orange that is slightly floral. A very refreshing scent. It is also known as Oswego tea and bee balm. This oil is good for depression, tension, and stress.

    - Bos-de-Rose – Aniba rosaeodora – A sweet, floral, woody scent that relieves stress, headache, and depression.

    - Cedarwood* – Cedrus atlantica – You will find this a scent that is dry, woody, and sweet. It soothes and calms. Great for arthritis and stress.

    - Chamomile* – Matricana chamomila – This oil has a fruity, herbal essence with a myriad of uses. Not only is it great for your hair, it is also wonderful for insomnia, anxiety, neuralgia, burns, pain of rheumatism, gout, sores, sprains, inflamed skin, strains, stress, and nerves, and gives a sense of peace and calm.

    - Cinnamon* – Cinnamonum zelanicum – I’m sure everyone has smelled the comforting aroma of cinnamon in apple pie, but I bet you didn’t know it is a wonderful essential oil for exhaustion, stress, and rheumatism. Cinnamon may be a mucus membrane irritant, as are the other spices, so keep that in mind when making oils intended for erotic massage. You might want to use just a small amount in you blend.

    - Citronella* – Cymbopogon nardus – This oil has a lovely citrus odor. I’m sure everyone is familiar with its insect-repellent attributes, but it’s also a great tonic for headache and fatigue.

    - Clary Sage* – Salvia sclarea – This oil with a nutty fragrance helps fortify a debilitated nervous system. It is also a euphoric and has sensual properties. Some sources site clary sage as being a uterine stimulant, so this must be kept in mind in the case of pregnancy.

    - Clove* – Eugenia caryophyllata – Clove is a wonderful analgesic; just ask anyone who’s used it for a toothache. It also has antiseptic properties and is excellent for arthritis pains, as well as sprains and strains. This oil may cause mucus membranes irritation, so again, be wary. In my own personal use of this essential oil, I’ve not found it to be irritating to mucus membranes, but everyone is different and perceives sensations differently.

    - Cypress – Cupressus sempervirens – A woody aroma that helps with mental and emotional resolve, as well as rheumatism and varicose veins.

    - Frankincense – Buswellia thurifera – This gift from the magi has a heady, spicy aroma. It encourages feelings of peace and wellbeing, calms, deepens breathing, and eases nerves and tension. I liked to use this oil or the resin itself when my children are fearful of boogey men and monsters. When I burn frankincense, I can feel it in my spine. The aroma evokes feelings of safety, and may even chase away evil spirits!

    - Geranium* – Pelargonium graveolens – An essential oil with a floral scent. It’s good for depression and nerves; helps to relax. It also benefits the nervous system and women who suffer from PMS.

    - Ginger – Zingiber officinale – Ginger has a spicy aroma that for me calms and soothes. My midwife uses ginger in boiling water during births to soothe the laboring mother. She also uses the ginger water to relax the skin. Ginger improves circulation; it’s great for cold hands and feet, so try it in a tub or footbath. It helps with muscle aches and pains, as well as arthritis.

    - Grapefruit – Citrus paradisi – This oil, with an obvious citrus aroma, is used for depression and migraine, and as a tonic aid in drug withdrawal. It is a good choice if you’re looking for a refreshing scent.

    - Hops – Humulus lupus – Hops is the ingredient in beer that acts as a sedative. Marijuana, which also causes sedation, is a relative of hops. Hops is an analgesic and helps neuralgia, nervous tension, bruising, and insomnia. It’s also a skin softener.

    - Jasmine – Jasminum officinale – This oil has an erotic floral scent. This night-blooming flower eases anxiety and lethargy, while relaxing and calming.

    - Juniper* – Juniperus communis – With an earthy, woody scent, juniper clears the emotions and relaxes. It’s also good for cellulitis and rheumatism.

    - Lavender – Lavendula augustiform – This oil has a warm floral aroma. It is a relaxant, easing nervous tension, headaches, neuralgia, and muscle aches and pains from rheumatism, and gives a sense of tranquility. It also works wonders on burns, though I do not recommend using the undiluted oil on damaged skin, and before using any oil medicinally, it’s a good idea to check with an aromatherapist, herbalist, midwife, or naturopath.

    - Lemon – Citrus limonum – A lemony aroma, of course, that refreshes and cools. It’s great for nerves, varicose veins, and high blood pressure. Anyone who has had a tall glass of ice water with a twist of lemon on a hot summer’s day or while feverish can attest to the cooling, soothing qualities of lemon.

    - Lemongrass – Cymbopogon citratus – Citrus. Wonderful for muscle aches, headaches, and stress.

    - Lime – Citrus aurantifolia – Another oil with a sweet citrus odor. Great for high blood pressure, rheumatism, depression, anxiety, insomnia, and varicose veins. It revitalizes, too.

    - Mandarin – Citrus noblis – An oil with a fruity citrus essence that relieves stress and nervousness, as well as eases insomnia with its tranquilizing effects.

    - Marjoram* – Origanum marjorana – This essential oil has a spicy, woody aroma that is helpful with bruises, PMS, anxiety, insomnia, muscle aches, circulation, neuralgia, rheumatism, sprains, and strains.

    - Melissa – Melissa officinalis – Also known as lemon balm, it calms nerves and lifts spirits. Its sedative affect helps with depression and insomnia. It’s also good for eczema.

    - Myrrh* – Commiphora myrrha – This aroma is woody and earthy, and has wonderful calming affects. It is also used as gargles and mouth rinses for those suffering from gingival problems, but this should be done only under the direction of any herbalist, and the oil never applied directly to the mucus membranes.

    - Neroli – Citrus bigaradia – This oil has the essence of blossom of bitter orange. It eases depression, anxiety, and hysteria, as well as nervous tension. It promotes peace and encourages sleep, but is also known for its seductive qualities.

    - Nutmeg* – Myristica fragrans – This woody, spicy oil works wonders for arthritis, aching muscles, neuralgia, rheumatism, and poor circulation.

    - Orange – Citrus aurantium – Bitter orange, with its citrus aroma, is good for depression, anxiety, stress, dull skin, and muscle spasms.

    - Palmarosa – Cymbopogon martini – This refreshing, floral aroma helps with exhaustion, skin infections, and dull skin.

    - Patchouli – Pogostemon patchouli – With its musky odor, it lends itself as a sensual essential oil. It is also useful for skin inflammation, fatigue, mature skin, stress, and hair care.

    - Peppermint – Mentha piperata – A cooling, refreshing minty aroma is the characteristic of this oil. It is also known for its benefits for inflammation, and migraine, and where it is applied it has an anesthetic affect that increases blood flow. Like the other mints, though, it may cause mucus membrane irritation.

    - Rose – Rosa gallica officinalis – A light floral aroma helps to ease tension, depression, and anxiety. It is a “love oil” that is also an excellent tonic for the reproductive organs. Rose also aids in the treatment of eczema and mature skin.

    - Rosemary* – Rosmarinus officinalis – This oil has an herbal, woody aroma. It, too, is a “love oil”, but also helps with headaches, fatigue, muscle aches, sprains, nerves, and rheumatism. This is one of the best oils for your hair.

    - Rosewood – Aniba Rosaeodora – This floral scent promotes comfort and eases depression. It relaxes sore muscles. It is also known as lemongrass.

    - Sandalwood – Santalum album – This wood-scented oil is known as a sexual stimulant. It helps the user to focus on the here and now, enjoying the moment rather than worrying about what could have been; enabling the user to fully enjoy his or her present situation and partner. It is also a sedative that helps with depression and PMS.

    - Thyme* – Thymus vulgaris (as well as T. serpyllum and T. pulegioides) – This plant possesses a fresh, herbal aroma. It strengthens nerves, eases exhaustion and rheumatic pains, and soothes muscle aches and arthritis. – Ylang-ylang – Canagna odorata – This oil has an exotic, floral odor that eases stress, anxiety, and high blood pressure. It’s a general tonic that is also well known for its sensual properties.

    Base oils

    - Sweet Almond – This oil can be used 100%. This is my favorite oil to use as a base. It’s light in texture and color, and has the added benefit of helping with itching, dryness, soreness, and inflammation.

    - Apricot Kernel – This oil, too, can be used undiluted. It’s good for sensitive skin and dry skin.

    - Avocado – This oil should be used at only 10% (90% should be another oil, such as sweet almond). This base oil is rather heavy and leaves a waxy feel on the skin.

    - Avocado Pear – Again, though this oil is good for dry skin, it should be used at 10% and mixed with another base oil.

    - Borage Seed – Another 10% oil that should be mixed. It’s good for premature aging, stimulation and regeneration of skin, multiple sclerosis, menopause, heart disease, and eczema.

    - Cocoa Butter – This needs to be warmed, as it is solid at room temperature, but it is excellent for dry skin.

    - Corn Oil – This oil can be used 100% and is good for all skin types. It’s rather heavy, but also soothing.

    - Hazelnut – This oil can be used undiluted and on all skin types. It is also an astringent.

    - Jojoba – This base should be diluted to 10%. It’s a wonderful help in psoriasis, acne, and inflamed skin, but can be used on all skin types. It’s also good for the hair.

    - Peanut Oil – Edgar Casey sang the wonders of this oil. He recommended it for all types of ailments. Peanut oil can be used undiluted and on all skin types, but be aware that it has a very strong aroma of peanuts and can feel quite heavy on the skin.

    - Safflower – This can be used undiluted and for all skin types.

    - Sesame Oil – This should be diluted to 10%, but is wonderful on all skin types. It is especially useful for psoriasis, eczema, and arthritis. It also has a strong aroma, though, so smell it before trying it. – Soya Bean – Another oil that can be used undiluted and on all skin types. – Sunflower oil – Again, another oil that can be used undiluted and on all skin types.

    - Wheat germ – While good for psoriasis, prematurely aging skin, and eczema, as well as all skin types, it should be used at 10%.

Remember, use only 5 to 6 drops of essential oil per 10 mL of base oil. This is the total amount. You can combine oils, of course, but in total your essential oils should not exceed the 5 to 6 drops mentioned above.

    Pregnancy and Essential Oils

Some essential oils may be uterine stimulants or have other effects that are contraindicated in pregnancy. While this list is pretty close to complete, there’s no way I can be sure I got everything down. In any case, when pregnant, it is always good to check with a midwife, herbalist, or aromatherapist before using any particular essential oil. While some oils are not advised during early pregnancy, some may actually be beneficial in the last trimester or during labor.

    Other Precautions

If allergic to nuts, avoid base oils that contain nuts, such as sweet almond oil, hazelnut oil, and peanut oil. This may seem an obvious thing to do, but there are some people that will assume because the oil is not being ingested, that it is safe. Unless you’ve had an anaphylactic reaction to nuts, you couldn’t possible understand the need to be extremely careful with these oils.

If you suffer from high blood pressure, avoid hyssop, rosemary, sage, and thyme. Licorice is also known to elevate the blood pressure, but it’s not often used as a massage oil!

    Diabetics should avoid angelica.

For those of you who enjoy tanning beds or outdoor tanning, you should avoid bergamot, lemon, grapefruit, ginger, lime, orange, and the other citruses. These can make you hypersensitive to ultraviolet waves.

Oils to be avoided in general are:

    • Bitter almond

    • Boldo leaf

    • Calamus

    • Deadly nightshade

    • Horseradish
