Japanese Skin Care's Big Secret is Seaweed

Some years ago, I met a young Japanese woman in New York City, on a shuttle to Kennedy Airport. She was flying back to Tokyo. She told me she worked for one of the giant international advertising firms and she’d come to New York to receive one of the company’s major annual awards. It was a little hard to believe. She was clearly intelligent, but very young.

I was bold enough to ask her age.

Amused, she said, “Guess.”

“You look about 18,” I said.

She laughed. “Twice that. Two months ago, I was 36.”

I was amazed. I said, “If you ever want to advertise the secrets of Japanese skincare, you could be your own model.”

She laughed again, told me she wasn’t sure why she looked so young, and the conversation turned to her award-winning ad campaign.

These days, it’s well known that Asian women, especially Japanese women, seem to age beautifully. Japanese skincare is a vital part of that.

Of course, there’s more. Many Japanese get regular exercise throughout their lives. The Japanese eat much more seafood than Americans, which makes their diet rich in Omega-3s. These essential fatty acids are wonderful for reducing inflammation throughout the body and nourishing the skin.

But there are Japanese skincare secrets that go beyond these things. Things the Western world doesn’t know about yet. A great part of the Japanese woman’s healthy and youthful skin appearance is something now called Phytessence Wakame.

Wakame is a type of sea kelp native to Japan. The Japanese eat wakame, both fresh and dried, sometimes crumpled as a condiment. Phytessence Wakame is wakame that has been extracted and purified. Applied to the skin, it has tremendous benefits.

Wakame is loaded with minerals and vitamins that nourish the skin. It is very rich in the B-complex vitamins. It is also rich in potassium and calcium, both essential minerals.

Phytessence Wakame offers all this and more; you might call it Japanese skincare in concentrated form. It helps to keep skin elastic, smooth, and moisturized. That pretty much describes beautiful skin, doesn’t it?

Here’s how it works:

Phytessence Wakame blocks the action of a bodily enzyme called hyaluronidase. And hyaluronidase has one very undesirable effect: it breaks down hyaluronic acid, which is essential to skin elasticity, smoothness, and youthful appearance.

In your skin, you want all the hyaluronic acid you can get — it helps keep your skin beautiful.

To say it simply: Phytessence Wakame is a wonderful skin care ingredient because it blocks the enzyme that degrades hyaluronic acid — and hyaluronic acid keeps your skin healthy and youthful.

So this is one of Japan’s best kept secrets — and in concentrated form. If you’d like to find a skincare product that contains Phytessence Wakame, check out my website. I’ve done the research for you!

Tahiti Food and the Tahitian Culture

Tahitian culture has distinct characteristics, thanks to the seclusion from the influences of outside world until as late as the 1767, when Samuel Wallis became the first European who visited the island. Tahitians developed a village-based society with farming and fishing as main sources of income. Also, probably the surrounding beauty of nature, made them skillful craftsmen and artists, who decorated every objects from their fishing hooks to their canoes.

Tahitians also loved to decorate themselves. The image of lovely Tahitian women with flowers in their hair is intimately associated with the image of Tahiti as a whole. Wearing a flower also has social significance. If a woman wears a flower on the left ear, this means she is available. An interesting trivia about Tahiti is that the word tattoo was probably originated from the Tahitian word ‘tatau’ with the same meaning.

Dance set to the traditional music of drums and conch shells was the soul of Tahitian culture. Many forms of traditional dances are lost. However, the modern Tahitian dance, which retains some of the ancient flavors, is still very much popular.

Food consists of a major part in Tahitian culture. The staple food of Tahitians in ancient time used to be meat, tropical fruits, vegetables such as yam and breadfruit and seafood. With time, Tahitian cuisine was influenced by the British, French and Chinese cuisines as lot of people from these countries came and settled over here. Tahitian food today is a delightful mixture of Polynesian, French, and Chinese cuisine, though a lot of people still cook in traditional ‘ahimaa’ (earthen oven).

You must taste local delicacies such as ‘poisson cru’ (a raw fish preparation in the gravy of rich coconut milk), ‘papaya chicken’ (a delicious combo of coconut milk, papaya and chicken) and ‘Banana Poe’ (a mouth-watering dessert). Tahitian cuisine uses a lot of lemon juices, coconut milk and of course vanilla for which the island is famous. Also, if you are visiting Tahiti during the summer season, don’t forget to taste the wide variety of tropical fruits available in local markets.

Top Japanese Beauty Tips You Should Know!

Majority of Japanese women have unbelievably fine and smooth skin. They also tend to age slower than other ethnicities. Do they have special secrets in keeping their skin young looking?

Since Japan has good sources of fish produces, they have easy access to fresh sea foods. They eat lots of sea foods. Their diet also contains a variety of vegetables. In fact, in the art of making bento or Japanese lunch box, there should be fruits and vegetables of various colors. The bento box is not complete without yellow, green and red colors of foods incorporated in it. Needless to say, they have a balanced diet daily.

Fishes are also high in omega-3 fatty acids. These fatty acids are essential for the over-all functioning of the system. They also help slow down the aging process because of their anti-inflammatory properties. Cellular inflammation is one of the main causes of fast skin aging process. When the cells are attacked by harmful free radicals, they get inflamed. They die a quicker death. Omega-3 fatty acids can help prevent that from happening.

In addition to a good diet, most Japanese people also prefer walking. This provides their body with enough physical activities to improve blood circulation.

Their skin care regimen is also the best. They make use of some of the best products in the market. If you want to emulate the Japanese skin care regimen, you should look for an anti aging moisturizer that has been loaded with the natural ingredients CynergyTK, Phytessence Wakame and Nano Lipobelle HEQ10.

CynergyTK is an ingredient that has been extracted from the wool of sheep. Sheep wool contains a type of functional protein called Keratin. Keratin is a type of protein needed for collagen production. Phytessence Wakame is a type of Japanese sea kelp. This is also used as an additional ingredient for sushi. This sea kelp can help prevent the rapid loss of hyaluronic acid. This acid is needed for collagen lubrication. Younger people have more hyaluronic acid than older people. That is because some harmful enzymes in the body break down this acid. Nano Lipobelle HEQ10 is an antioxidant that can protect young cells from the harmful effects of free ranging radicals.

When applying your moisturizer, use a gentle circular motion. Gently pull your skin upward to avoid skin sagging. The best time to apply your moisturizer is right after taking a bath. Your pores are still open and your moisturizer can penetrate deeper. Massage for a few minutes until the moisturizer has penetrated in your dermis layers.
